Resurrection Sunday, the Church’s Message

What a day of victory it was, when death could not hold the Son of Man (Acts 2:24). Death is the wages of sin (Rom 6:23), but Jesus was the sinless lamb of God (1 Peter 1:19), therefore it had no power over him.

It has been said that the church is built on an empty tomb. Indeed, we worship a living Savior who did not remain in the grave but rose in glory to indwell by his Spirit every true believer (Rom 8:9).

Friends, the gospel message is not just that Jesus died for you and me. The second and most important part of the good news is that he rose for us too! For without the resurrection, his death could not save us and we would still be in our sins (1 Cor 15:17).

The resurrection was the gospel of the early church, and it must be ours as well. It truly is GOOD NEWS. Rejoice, for he is risen. And because he is we too shall live!

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26 NASB)

A blessed Resurrection Sunday to you all!

Love in Christ,

Mark
